Laser Skin Treatments

Laser treatments at Meridian Medical are performed by Dr Vidura Perera after a consultation to assess your skin, discuss risks and downtime, and confirm suitability.

Laser Skin Care

The Alma Hybrid combines a fractional ablative CO2 laser with a non-ablative 1570 nm laser. The ablative component treats the skin surface; the non-ablative component heats deeper skin layers. Both carry risks and downtime, which depend on the settings used.

Pigmentation and Sun Damage

Laser treatment may be an option for some sun spots, age spots and uneven skin tone. A skin check is performed first, as some pigmented lesions must not be lasered.

Scaring

Fractional laser may be used to treat the appearance of some acne and surgical scars. Results vary and several sessions are usually needed.

About the Alma Hybrid

A laser platform combining fractional CO2 (10,600 nm) and 1570 nm lasers used for skin resurfacing and scar treatment.

Eyelid Skin

Fractional laser may be used on the skin of the upper and lower eyelids to treat fine lines and skin laxity. This is not a surgical blepharoplasty and does not remove excess skin or fat.

Skin Resurfacing

Fractional CO2 resurfacing may improve the appearance of skin texture, fine lines, pores and some stretch marks. Expect redness, swelling and peeling for several days; sun protection is essential afterwards.
